Startup FP&A
Framework

Plan With Clarity. Operate With Control.

You raised the seed round. Now you're hiring, spending, and making $50K decisions with a spreadsheet built for a company half this size. This framework gives you the financial clarity to know whether your next move is safe — without a $180K finance hire.

The Problem

Growing Teams. Growing Costs.
Shrinking Visibility.

After the seed round, complexity compounds quickly. Revenue grows. Hiring accelerates. Spend increases. But financial visibility rarely keeps pace.

01

You're Flying Blind on Numbers

Stripe says one thing. QuickBooks says another. Your burn spreadsheet is three weeks stale. There's no single number you actually trust.

02

You Find Out Too Late

You discover you're tight on cash the same month you planned to hire. The decision that caused it was made 3 months ago — when you could still course-correct.

03

A Full-Time CFO Is Premature

A VP of Finance costs $180K+ before benefits. You're not ready for that headcount — but operating without financial structure isn't an option anymore either.

This isn't a reporting problem. By the time the numbers show a problem, the decision that caused it was made months ago — when a different choice was still possible.

The Transformation

From Guessing at Numbers to
Running the Business From Them

The Founder FP&A Framework replaces the guesswork behind every hiring, spending, and growth decision you make.

Before Finsight
"I think we have about 9 months of runway"
Three spreadsheets, none of them current
"Can we afford to hire?" answered with a gut feel
Cash crunch discovered the month it hits
Finance reviewed once a quarter, if at all
After Finsight
"We have 11.4 months — here's what changes that"
One model everyone runs decisions from
"Can we afford to hire?" answered in a meeting
Runway constraints visible 90 days early
Finance reviewed monthly, acted on immediately

The question stops being "what happened last month?" and becomes "what do we need to decide this month — and what does the math say?"

A 40-tab spreadsheet nobody reads
Execution support or operational management

What You Get

Two Phases. One Integrated System.

The framework is built in two stages — a one-time setup that establishes the foundation, then a monthly cadence that runs on top of it.

Phase 1 · Initial Framework Setup

This phase establishes a clean, decision-ready financial foundation. Typically completed in 2–3 weeks.

12-Month Budget & Operating Plan

A bottom-up plan aligned to your current growth stage and operating reality — not a top-down template.

Revenue Forecast & Pipeline Logic

Clear expectations for how revenue flows through cash and runway — with assumptions you can defend.

Cost & Resource Structure

Visibility into how spend maps to growth and where constraints emerge — so you can plan hiring and investment with confidence.

KPI Framework & Dashboard Setup

Stage-appropriate metrics that surface what actually matters — not vanity KPIs that look good but don't drive decisions.

Management Reporting Format

Leadership- and investor-ready reporting designed for consistent monthly use — clear, not cluttered.

Outcome: A simplified FP&A foundation that improves decision quality without slowing execution.
Phase 2 · Monthly Cadence

The recurring system that keeps financial decisions aligned as the business evolves. Each cycle runs on the foundation built in Phase 1.

Rolling Forecast Update

Your plan updated to match reality — not a January budget you stopped trusting by March.

Budget vs Actual Review

What changed, why it changed, and what to do about it — not a table of numbers with no interpretation.

KPI Dashboard Refresh

The 5–7 numbers that tell you whether the business is on track — updated, current, no digging required.

Cash Runway Outlook

Ongoing visibility into how long cash lasts and what extends or compresses it — before the constraint becomes a crisis.

Leadership Insight Summary

A concise view of what changed, why it changed, and what decision it impacts next — written for founders, not accountants.

Outcome: Founders move from reacting to financial surprises to anticipating them early — with a monthly system that improves over time.

Value-Add Modules

Optional — Added When the
Situation Calls for It

Never bundled by default. Introduced selectively when deeper analysis is required.

Zero-Based Budgeting

Rebuild spend around current priorities rather than legacy assumptions — useful when the business has grown into cost structures that no longer match its stage.

Custom Dashboards

Role-specific views for founders, operators, or investors — tailored to what each stakeholder needs to see, without information overload.

Manib brought real financial structure to our business at exactly the stage when most founders are flying blind on numbers. He doesn't just build models — he translates what the numbers mean and tells you what decision to make next. That kind of clarity is rare.

Common Questions

Questions Founders Ask
About This Engagement

Bookkeepers and accountants record what happened. This framework is forward-looking — forecasting what's likely to happen, surfacing early signals, and connecting financial decisions to operational choices before they're irreversible. It's a decision tool, not a compliance function.

Primarily, sharing actuals against the prior month's plan — usually a 30–60 minute data handoff. We handle the interpretation, variance analysis, and decision summary. The goal is to minimize your time while maximizing the quality of financial insight you receive each month.

Typically 2–3 weeks, depending on the complexity of your business and the availability of historical financial data. The setup phase establishes everything the monthly cadence runs on — so the time invested upfront pays off in every subsequent cycle.

The engagement requires a minimum notice period, agreed in your proposal. It's not a locked contract, but a structured commitment is required — the framework builds compounding value over time and isn't designed for one-off use. This is confirmed transparently before any work begins.

Read access to your accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, etc.) is helpful but not required — we can work from exported reports. We do not post to your books or handle accounting entries. If you don't have accounting software set up yet, that's fine — we can work with what you have.

Your Next Move — Before You Make It

Most founders put this off until after a cash surprise, a hiring mistake, or a Series A question they couldn't answer. The right time to have this in place is before you need it.
